According to analysts, the BA.2 strain of the Omicron variant is already responsible for more than 76 per cent of infections in the country, and it has substantial structural changes compared to the dominant strain so far. It has a reinfection rate that could jeopardise the effectiveness of antibodies.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The head of BIOJAM's medical department, Augusto Santos Costa, points out that studies indicate that \"BA.2 is around 30 per cent more transmissible than BA.1, and is present in 1 in 5 cases of covid-19 worldwide\". For this reason, the pharmaceutical company guarantees that it will maintain screening units and stocks of tests until the levels of contagion are reduced.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Despite the lifting of restrictions on the submission of tests and the reduction in reimbursement, the company will maintain the entire structure for carrying out tests, as well as partnerships for maintaining stocks.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
