These tests detect the infection in just 15 minutes. Experts approve the measure and say it is essential in places \"where many people gather.\"<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n<p>\"It is probably one of the best news we have received since the beginning of the pandemic\": this is how Dr. Filipe Froes, a pulmonologist and coordinator of the covid-19 crisis office of the Medical Association, reacts to the intention of the Portuguese Red Cross (CVP) to distribute 500 thousand rapid covid-19 diagnostic tests for free to be used in schools and nursing homes - which have the ability to detect the infection in just 15 minutes.
